Register now for emergency preparedness training

When disaster strikes, will you know what to do? Learn how to be prepared, respond in emergencies and help your community in Marysville’s free Community Emergency Response Team training course.

The program runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday evenings from March 8 through April 26 at Marysville Fire Station 66. Registration deadline is Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is an eight-week program that educates community members about disaster preparedness for hazards that could affect their area and trains them in basic response skills including fire safety, search and rescue, and medical operations. Marysville residents and business owners are encouraged to participate or send employees.

While the course is free, participants provide their own personal safety equipment, which costs about $30. Details will be provided at the first class.

Learn more and register online at http://www.marysvillewa.gov/758/CERT or contact Marysville Emergency Management at 360-363-8096 or drose@marysvillewa.gov.
