Explore healthy living: Healthy Communities Challenge Day June 3

Try the rock-climbing wall, check out fitness demonstrations, plant seeds and more at Marysville’s ninth annual Healthy Communities Challenge Day on Saturday, June 3.

The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. at Allen Creek Elementary School, 6505 60th Dr. NE – off SR 528. Kids and parents can learn about fitness, nutrition, gardening and recreation opportunities at the annual event. More than 70 vendors will be on hand to help connect participants to healthier living.

“Making healthy choices and finding new ways to stay active can be challenging for busy families,” said Mayor Jon Nehring. “Challenge Day is a great way to explore healthy new ideas for the summer and make a commitment to a lifetime of health.”

Challenge Day features a variety of health and fitness activities, including:

·        Fitness demonstrations

·        Entertainment

·        Kids’ arts and crafts

·        Health checks

·        Seed planting

·        Free giveaways

Kids and parents can also enjoy high-energy performances from Kung Fu 4 Kids and Rising Stars Gymnastics as well as have some bubble fun and even get their feet moving with line dancing!

The City of Marysville partners with several local community sponsors to host Challenge Day. They include primary sponsor The Everett Clinic as well as Acupuncture Associates of Marysville, BECU, Bourne Orthodontics, Grandview Village, Health 1st Chiropractic, Jimmy John’s of Marysville, Kung Fu 4 Kids, Marysville School District, Molina Health Care, North Cascades Crew, North County Outlook, Northwest Behavioral Healthcare Services, Sno-Isle Libraries, Summit Rehabilitation, The Living Room Coffee House and YMCA.
