Belmark HQ earns 2017 Pride of Marysville award

An incredible makeover that transformed a longtime neighborhood eyesore into one of the city’s most attractive businesses earned the 2017 Pride of Marysville Neighborhood Improvement Award for Best Business. Belmark Properties owner Aaron Metcalf received the award from Mayor Jon Nehring at the Sept. 11 City Council meeting.

In 2016, Belmark bought the abandoned building and property at 12409 State Ave. and built its new offices there, opening in February 2017. A Marysville business since 1975, Belmark had two previous locations in town.

In presenting the award, Mayor Nehring said that he received many compliments from Marysville residents on the Belmark project during its construction and since its opening.

“Your work here is a great example of the remarkable powers of vision put into motion,” he told Metcalf. “Thank you for doing business here in Marysville and showing us the difference that one person or business can make.”

Mayor Nehring created the Pride of Marysville awards in 2012 to publicly honor property owners who have done exceptional work in improving their home or business properties. Attractive properties bring curb appeal to the community, improving Marysville’s image for residents and visitors.
