Where is the Community Development Department located? - We are at 80 Columbia Avenue, Marysville, WA. View a location map in pdf format.

What are your hours? Normal business hours at 7:30 am - 4:00 pm M-F.

What is my zoning? - Download the City zoning map to look up the designation for your property. 

Are there maps for sale? - There are zoning, comprehensive plan and streets maps for sale. Cost is $11.00 for large maps and $3.00 for small maps. Also see our maps page to download maps in pdf format.

Do I need a building permit? - Any structure over 120 sq. ft. or any addition to an existing structure will require a building permit. Signs, demolitions, grading, mechanical or electrical work, and re-roofing will also require a permit.

Is my residence inside the city limits? - Refer to the city map to see if your residence is inside the city limits.

Are there wetlands on a property I'm interested in? - The only way to know if there are wetlands on a given property is to have a wetland survey done. The city maintains a list of qualified wetland consultants. Reports from consultants on this list will be accepted by the City; reports from other consultants may be challenged.

Do you have a drawing of my septic system? - The Snohomish County Health District has jurisdiction over septic systems. Drawings of your septic system may be found through their on-line system at http://www.snohd.org - look for the 'Septic System' link on the menu at the left of the page.
