The Park Board acts in an advisory capacity to the Parks and Recreation Director and to the City Council.
The board performs long-range planning for parks and recreation facilities and programs; capital
improvements to parks and recreation properties and facilities; acquisition or disposal of parks and
recreation real property or facilities; adoption of operating rules and regulations relating to parks
and recreation properties and facilities; and supports interlocal cooperation with Parks and Recreation
programs in other jurisdictions.

The Park Board meets the 2nd Wednesday of every other month beginning in January at 7 p.m. in Jennings Park
Barn, 6915 Armar Road. Like many boards and committees, meetings must be
occasionally cancelled or rescheduled. If you wish to attend a meeting, please
contact the Parks Office at (360) 363-8400 to confirm that the regular meeting
will occur as scheduled.
