Family Caregiver Support Group:
This caregiver support program is designed for unpaid caregivers. A Family Caregiver Support Specialist will facilitate this monthly meeting for others to share their experiences and goals while taking care of their loved one. This support group meeting helps family caregivers support each other with the challenges and rewards that care giving can bring. Caregivers come out refreshed and feeling that they are not alone.
The best care you can give your loved-one is your own self-care and support. They recognize caregivers must balance time away from work, family and personal responsibilities when caring for someone, often leading to stress or burnout. The group will help families get connected and resources in the community.
A Care Receiver could be friend, a neighbor other than family member and family caregiver are the one who visits, call, or help them out as they are sick, or have disabilities. Support can be minimal, and providing personal care is not a requirement. Caregiver who are not receiving payment for the services or help rendered are welcome to attend.
This group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month beginning April 20th from 10am to 11:30am. No need to pre-register, the meeting is a drop-in format. Held at Jennings Memorial Park Barn, 6915 Armar Road Marysville
