Sign up now for citizen emergency response training

CERT2018FB

The City of Marysville and Marysville Fire District are offering another round of popular Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training in Marysville. Registration is now open for classes taking place on eight consecutive Tuesday evenings, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Sept. 11 through Oct. 30, at Fire Station #62, 10701 Shoultes Rd.

CERT provides education and training in basic response skills including fire safety, search and rescue, and medical operations. Participants must live or work in Marysville, attend all sessions, establish a three-day emergency kit, obtain personal safety equipment and be a willing team participant. Personal safety equipment costs about $30; more information about what to get and where to buy it is provided at the first class.

Classes fill up quickly, so apply soon. The online application and more information are available at http://www.marysvillewa.gov/758/CERT. If you have questions, please contact Emergency Manager Diana Rose at drose@marysvillewa.gov or 360-363-8096.
