With
the goal of giving 1,200 coats for children ages birth to 17 years in
the Marysville-Tulalip community, Marysville Police officers will start
collecting donations of new coats for kids tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 13) from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kohl’s, 3713 116th St. N.E., Marysville.
“Last
year I heard from volunteers that it was heartbreaking to tell a mom that we
had a coat for one of her growing kids, but not the other,” said Connie Mennie,
City of Marysville spokesperson. “This year’s ambitious goal will make sure
that doesn’t happen again. We’re confident this generous community can rise to
the challenge.”
This
is the first of four Coats for Kids dates this year. Marysville Police will be
present at all four to meet the public and collect donations:
