Traffic alert: State Avenue partial closure Friday, Oct. 15

State Ave detour NB lanes north of 100th St NE on Friday, Oct. 15

As the project to widen State Avenue north of 100th Street NE nears completion, drivers should prepare for traffic delays on Friday, Oct. 15. Northbound traffic will be detoured from State Avenue to Shoultes/51st Avenue NE to 136th Street NE. Southbound traffic will be unaffected.

Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The closure is needed to perform the bridge deck ‘closure pour,’ which brings together the previously constructed east and west halves of the bridge deck over Quilceda Creek. This work is weather dependent.

Expect delays and use alternate routes if possible. Detour signs will be posted. Local business and residential access remains open during construction. Thank you for your patience.

When construction is substantially complete late this year, the State Avenue roadway between 100th and 104th will have five lanes instead of three along with curb, gutter and sidewalk and street lighting to improve traffic and pedestrian safety.
