Marysville – January 3, 2023, 09:00 AM
On Tuesday morning, January 3rd, just before 8:00 a.m., a 36-year-old Granite Falls man was taken into custody by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and Region 1 SWAT team members. The arrested suspect was wanted in connection with a Marysville homicide from the night before.
On Monday night, January 2nd, Marysville officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 7200 block of 47th Ave., in Marysville. An adult female had called 911, reporting that someone had shot her boyfriend. Officers arrived on the scene and located an adult male laying in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Marysville Fire was dispatched, however, life-saving measures were not successful. The victim is a 37-year-old Marysville resident.
Officers learned the suspect had come to the victim’s apartment and that the victim, at some point, went outside and a conversation took place between the two. It was during this interaction the suspect shot the victim and fled the scene
The victim’s girlfriend provided the suspect's name, whose information was broadcast to other local police agencies. Soon thereafter, SCSO deputies located the suspect’s vehicle at his residence.
Marysville detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence, and the Region 1 SWAT team took him into custody. The suspect is being booked at the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of 2nd-degree Murder.
