Description: The City of Marysville is required by Washington state law to update the Marysville Municipal Code (MMC) and Comprehensive Plan, as necessary, to address the requirements of the following State laws: Middle Housing (HB 1110), Accessory Dwelling Unit Amendments (HB 1337), and Unit Lot Subdivisions (HB 5258).

We’d Like to Hear from You!

At the Open House, staff will provide a brief presentation on the Middle Housing, Accessory Dwelling Unit, and Unit Lot Subdivision requirements including:

What Middle Housing, Accessory Dwelling Units, and Unit Lot Subdivisions are.

  • What Middle Housing, Accessory Dwelling Units, and Unit Lot Subdivisions are.
  • What each law requires, and what parts the City has local choices on.
  • Proposed zoning strategies to address these laws, while minimizing impacts on residential areas.

Your thoughts and feedback are requested on the following topics:

  • What six of nine Middle Housing types should be allowed. Options are duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, fiveplexes, sixplexes, townhouses, cottage housing, courtyard apartments, and stacked flats.
  • Whether flexibility should be allowed to facilitate Middle Housing, or if the City should attempt to maintain the current density of projects, and size and scale of buildings, to the extent feasible.

We would really appreciate your input and hope you can attend!
