Water rates
The City of Marysville provides more than 6.9 million gallons per day of quality drinking water to more than 23,100 connections throughout the City (pop. 69,180) and within the Coordinated Water Study Plan (CWSP) Area, as well as providing necessary fire flows, at rates that are competitive in the Puget Sound region.
The City uses American Water Works Association (AWWA) meter factors to determine monthly meter rates for meters larger than 5/8-inch. The flat meter fee is established by AWWA (nationally-recognized standard) and helps equitably distribute service costs that are not related to volume of water used, such as bill production, customer service, water service inspections and meter reading, maintenance and replacement.
Customers are billed bi-monthly. Bi-monthly Meter Base Rates for all customers and base rates adjusted as a result of rate restructuring, incorporating the annual 2% increase from 2022 to 2023, are illustrated in the chart below.

Residential & Multi-family (per unit) Volume Tiers & Rates
Volume Tiers | Usage billed in 1,000 gallon increments | City Rate (per 1,000 gallons) | Rural Rate (per 1,000 gallons) | Outside UGA Rate (per 1,000 gallons) |
---|---|---|---|---|
1st Tier | 0 to 6,000 | $1.37 | $2.06 | $2.75 |
2nd Tier | 7,000-20,000 | $4.81 | $7.21 | $9.61 |
